I had a big agent and near a major deal once. Omg, it was so traumatic. It was the worst stretch of my life. I’ve never met a writer who was happy with the process or the eventual version of the book that got out there. Hey, it’d need one thing if this industry were minting millionaires left and right. You get your soul torn pieces to find out there’s no money for marketing and the book will tank but there’re willing to give you one more chance and now they just start telling you what to write. It’s hell.

This applies to a lot more than writing
It really does. If you don’t feel secure enough to ask questions, I would start by questioning the foundation.
