Kristen, interesting information. Love pugs too by the way, but I also noticed something I wasn't aware of. Had no idea the connection you had with Mysterious Press! Once upon a time I had a story that was somehow accepted for Otto Penzler's short story collection titled Kwik Krimes. I had no business having my story in that book with so many big names but hey, there I was. Anyway, I believe Otto founded Mysterious Press? Did you know him well?
I’ve met Otto a few times, but he wasn’t in charge of Mysterious Press when I was there. I worked with editor Sara Ann Freed. She really worked closely with Otto, but he was long gone by the time I got there.
I also went to Binghamton. I was an English lit. major and became a copy editor. I learned through an internship at Medieval Renaissance Texts and Studies when the publisher was there. I've freelanced but now I'm kind of retired and I publish a magazine for my church. I'm enjoying your posts!
